Attorney-at-Law Dr. Till Neumann completed his training in industrial business management with the Siemens AG in Munich and Erlangen, subsequently studying law at the University of Munich. He was admitted to the Bar in 1989 and has since been active as an Attorney-at-Law focusing on Copyright, Film and Media Law.
He developed his thesis on copyright while a research associate at the Max-Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law (today’s Max-Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition), which he completed in 1993. This work was awarded the 1994 Heinrich-Hubmann Prize, granted by the collecting society WORT for academic publications in the Copyright category.
Till Neumann has been a partner at Brehm & v. Moers since its incorporation in 2000. Prior to this, he worked for a large German TV network, as well as the law firm of Beiten Burkhardt. Till Neumann advises domestic as well as international firms in all matters relating to Film, Copyright and Media Law. Among his clients are numerous film and TV producers (including majors), TV broadcasters, owners of licensing rights or licensors, and other sundry media companies, as well such creative individuals as authors, directors and actors. His consulting focus lies in the drafting and negotiation of contracts with (screenplay) authors, directors, actors and other performers, as well as development, coproduction, commissioned production and other sundry production agreements, licensing and further exploitation contracts, contracts with banks and insurers, as well as agreements in the music and musical theatre sectors.
Further consulting areas comprise film financing and film subsidies, matters relating to collecting societies, Public Media Law, international and domestic Copyright Law, particularly the enforcing and defence of claims arising from the “bestseller“ clauses contained in German Copyright Law.
